During an extraction, we safely remove an infected or otherwise damaged tooth to preserve the overall health of your smile. Extractions are familiar to most patients in the context of wisdom teeth removal but may also be necessary if a tooth has been damaged. Read more about Tooth Extraction.
Root canals, or “endodontic treatments,” may sound scary, but they are a safe and routine procedure we use to save teeth. If a tooth is severely infected, a root canal allows us to clear out the diseased pulp and roots, stabilize the tooth, and seal it against future infection. Read more about Root Canals.
Inlays and onlays are indirect fillings used on teeth that can’t support a traditional filling. An inlay restores a tooth where damage hasn’t affected the tips, or cusps, of the tooth whereas onlays restore damage to the center of the tooth as well as any damaged cusps. Read more about Inlays and Onlays.
Dentures these days look more natural and are more comfortable to wear than ever before. Partial dentures are also available, and are strong, thin, and will match seamlessly with the rest of your smile. Read more about Full and Partial Dentures.
A dental crown is a restoration that encapsulates a damaged tooth. Crowns protect and strengthen teeth that couldn’t be restored with fillings but aren’t so damaged that they warrant extraction. Crowns can be made of several materials and are custom made to match the size and shape of your original tooth. Read more about Dental Crowns.
Dental bridges can restore one or more missing teeth. Crowns are placed on the natural teeth, or implants, on either side of the gap left by a missing tooth and are used to anchor a prosthetic tooth in place. Read more about Dental Bridges.
Dental implants can replace missing teeth. Implants are made of titanium and resemble small screws. Dr. Coussens will place the implant directly into a patients jawbone where, as it heals around the implant, the jaw will be strengthened and revitalized. This creates a sturdy foundation for the implant, which is then topped with a custom crown. Read more about Dental Implants.
